Elder Ronald Darvin Edwards
MANSFIELD: Elder Ronald Darvin Edwards passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021 and was blessed to be surrounded by his family in his home. He was 82.

He was born September 28, 1938 in Dickenson County, Virginia to parents Freddie & Hettie (Hackney) Edwards. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country by joining the US Army.

A beautiful young lady named Nancy Belcher caught his eye and the pair married on December 20, 1958.

Ronald worked at GM in the WEMR Department where he worked until retiring in 1993. He was a member at Marlboro Primitive Baptist Church.

Ronald enjoyed hunting, especially turkey hunting as he was great at calling the turkeys in. He was one that enjoyed garage sales and finding a good deal. Above all else he enjoyed his time spent as a minister and his church services will be remembered by many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Nancy Edwards; children Gregory Dwayne (Tracy) Edwards, Byron Scott (Kathy) Edwards and Randy Keath Edwards; grandchildren Brad (Tiffany) Edwards and Ryan Edwards; sisters Crissie and Betty Lou; brother Noah; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by brothers Howard, Durward and Otis; sisters Retta and Elma.

His family will receive friends 11:30 am - 1pm Friday, September 24, 2021 in Owl Creek Harmony Baptist Church where a funeral service honoring his life will begin promptly at 1pm. Burial will follow in North Fork Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions to OhioHealth Hospice may be made at the funeral.
