Doyal Goins

Doyal Goins, 74, of Galion, died Monday, October 26, 2015 at MedCentral, Mansfield surrounded by his wife and children after a short battle with cancer.

Doyal was born in Siler, KY on June 1, 1941 to the late Arthur and Elsie (Jones) Goins. He married Faye I. Brown on April 17, 1964 and she survives him.

He was employed by Timken, Bucyrus for 25 years as a machine operator. Doyal proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 79, Galion, Loyal Order of Moose #303, Galion, and the Amvets Post #1979, Galion. His pastimes included motorcycle riding, boating, swimming and collecting knives.

He is survived by his wife Faye, his daughter Rhonda & Tom Thompson, Porter, TX, his son Ryan & Mindy Goins, Crestline, his five grandchildren, his three great-grandchildren, his three brothers Harold Goins, Merril Goins, and Edward Goins, his sister Dorothy Feldhake, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister Geneva and his brothers Kenny, Eugene and Bill.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2–4 and 6–8 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastor Seth Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion. Full military honors will be given by the U.S. Navy and the Galion/Crestline Veteran’s Burial Detail.
