Donald Duane Harvey, 72, of Lucas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, July 11, 2014, with his family by his side.
Donald was born on August 16, 1941, in Shawnee, OH to James and Edna M. (Osborne) Harvey. He was a truck driver for many years. Three things could be said about Donald. Number one was his love for the Lord; number two was his love for his wife, Carol (Conner) Harvey, whom he married on June 12, 1959 and just celebrated 55th anniversary; and number three was his love for his family. This was his priority in life, however he did find occasion to enjoy tractor and truck pulls.
Along with his wife, Carol, he is survived by five children, Ron (Roberta) Harvey and Jeff (Trina) Harvey, both of Mansfield, Kathy (Jeff) Stevens, Tammi (Bud) Porter, and Rick (Michelle) Harvey all of Lucas; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and four brothers, Bern (Carline) Harvey, Joe (Linda) Harvey, Dave (Sharon) Harvey, and Tim Harvey, all of Mansfield.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Bob Harvey, Jim Harvey, Bill Harvey, Rich Harvey, and Clifford “Buck” Harvey.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Unity Freewill Baptist Church, 288 Pershing Avenue, Galion, OH.
