David G. Dickerson, 58, of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, following a brief illness.
David was born on March 28, 1957, in Shelby, to Robert L. and Carolyn (Arnold) Dickerson. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather, and loved his family very much. David raced at area dirt tracks, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Diana (Sellards) Dickerson; four children, Angelica (Mark) Otero of Delaware, OH, Army Specialist Crystal Lomax of Ft. Benning, GA, and Jeremy (Crystal) Dickerson and Heather Dickerson, both of Mansfield; ten grandchildren, Taylor Dickerson, Chloe Niswander, Zoe Festge, Caleb Lomax, Caylee Lomax, Donovan Dickerson, Mason Simmons, Blake Dickerson, Kierra Yates, and Hunter Dickerson; his beloved dog Libby; three siblings, Robert (Deb) Dickerson and Claudia (Mike) McWilliams both of Mansfield, and Jerry (Karen) Dickerson of Willard; one sister-in-law, Rhonda Dickerson of Willard; two sisters-in-law, Judy Hamm of Ocala, FL, and Pamela Sellards of Mansfield; two brothers-in-law, Larry (Sheila) Sellards of Pelion, SC, and William Sellards Jr of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Terry Dickerson; and his beloved dog, Zack.
The family is honoring David’s wishes that there would be no services. Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, is handling the arrangements.
