Daniel Thacker II

Daniel A. Thacker, II, 53, of Milan, MI died unexpectedly Thursday, January 22, 2015 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI.

Daniel was born in Lima, on August 26, 1961 to Daniel A. and Pansy M. (Garzaniti) Thacker of Galion.

He was a graduate of Galion High School Class of 1979.  After graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed by EMC where he served as Chief Technology Officer.  Daniel was a member of the Catholic Church.  Dan’s favorite pastime was boating. 

He is survived by his parents Daniel A. and Pansy M. (Garzaniti) Thacker of Galion, his two sons Daniel A. Thacker, III, Detroit, MI, David Thacker, Dawsonville, GA, his two daughters Brianna Thacker, GA and Gracie Thacker, MI, his two brothers Samuel Thacker, Ontario, and William & Joan Thacker, Milan, MI, his nephews William Thacker and Jacob Thacker, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion at 11:30 a.m. with Fr. John Miller, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Shriners' Hospital in care of the funeral home.
