Clyde Mollett, 71, of Mansfield, passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 12, 2016, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
Clyde was born April 6, 1944, in Inez, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Lacy and Gertrude (Maynard) Mollett. He was a certified electrician and worked at Empire Detroit Steel for many years. Clyde loved to fish and hunt; and appreciated the beauty of wildflowers, squirrels, and birds free in nature. His passion for the Lord was evident in his everyday life.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Sue Mollett; three daughters, Joann Murphy, of Mansfield, Irma (Rod) Lyons, and Melissa (Roger) Harmon, both of Ashland; son, Lester Murphy, of Ashland; five step-children, Robbie (JoAnna) Carroll, of Michigan, Cathy Turner (Mike Mosier), of Mansfield, David (Tammy) Knipp, of Mansfield, Jeannie (Rick) Sutter, of Greenwich, and Johnny (Mary) Knipp, of Crestline; 30 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister, Ima Jean Meadows; four brothers, Lonnie, Wayne, Henry, and Claude Mollett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Glenda Mollett; one great-granddaughter, Athena Mae Gillium; and two sisters, Rosella and Rosetta Mollett.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016 and 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at the funeral home, with Pastor Ronnie Conn officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
