Clifton Taylor Cornell, 95, of Jeromesville, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Hospice of North Central Ohio. He was born August 19, 1918 in Newark, Ohio to the late Benjamin Foraker and Almira Iva (Drumm) Cornell.

Clifton retired from White Westinghouse, and formerly lived in Mansfield before moving to Jeromesville eight years ago to be with family. Proud Veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Southview Grace Brethren Church in Ashland, and celebrated his rebaptism there at the age of 92. A devoted family man, he especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

He is survived by his daughter, Shirley Cornell of Jeromesville; grandsons, Mike (Lisa) Cornell of Jeromesville and Jason (Sandy) Cornell of Ashland; great-grandchildren, Trulena Cornell of Canton, Amber (Randy) Anders of South Carolina, Dakota Cornell, Rebecca Cornell both of Ashland, Lisa Cornell of Mansfield, Noah Cornell, Hunter Cornell, Tishia Cornell all of Jeromesville, Elizabeth Cornell and Megan Cornell both of Ashland; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy LaVonne Cornell and a son, Irvin Clifton Cornell. 

Friends may call Monday, July 28, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Union Cemetery in Perrysville.
