Charles R. Johnson, 69, Galion, passed away suddenly at Galion Community Hospital on Friday, May 20, 2016.

Charles was born in Halo, KY on October 1, 1946 to the late Leo and Merica (Isaac) Johnson. He married Evelyn J. Bates on May 24, 1966 and she survives him.

Charles worked at PPG Industries, Inc. Works # 26, Crestline for 42 years as a Line Operator until retirement in 2008. Charles was a member of the Unity Freewill Baptist Church, Galion and was proud of being a Christian. He enjoyed working in his yard. Charles cherished his wife Evelyn and took very good care of his family.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Johnson, Galion, his three grandchildren; Mary Alysha Johnson, Colt Charles Johnson, Remington Jarret Johnson, his three brothers; Danny and Glenna Johnson, Galion, Forest and Patty Johnson, Canton, Ishmon and Claudett Johnson, Columbus, his sister; Anna Caldwell, Lexington, KY and his little buddy Ethan Herron.

He was preceded in death by parents, his son, Michael Johnson, two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call on Sunday, May 22, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. David Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Dapper Cemetery, Crestline.
