Catherine S. “Katie” Sharp, 85, Crestline, died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at her home in Mill Creek, Galion.

Katie was born in Bucyrus, on August 10, 1929 to the late Joseph and Mary (Principato) Augustine. She married Robert J. “Jack” Sharp on August 13, 1960 who preceded her in death on March 9, 2013.

Katie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline. She was the co-owner of the family businesses, Sharp’s Appliances, Sharp’s Coin Operated Laundromat and Wiring by Sharp. Over the years, Katie volunteered with numerous local charities and touched the lives of many with her generosity, love, and kindness-there was always an extra seat at her table.

Katie never missed an opportunity to support her family of football coaches and players. As an avid football fan, Friday nights were dedicated to her Bulldogs and grandsons, Saturdays were The Buckeyes and The Fighting Irish, and Sundays were all about the Browns and the Lions.

She is survived by her brother, Sant and Faith Augustine of Tucson, AZ; her three daughters, Susan and Bill Heitzman of Crestline, Jackie Marsano of Delaware, and Sandy and Paul Popson of Columbus; loving guardian to Rita Williams Kirk and Christine Williams; nine grandchildren, Heather (Craig) Stover, Joshua (Michelle) Walters, Anthony Marsano, Nicholas (Elizabeth)Marsano, Robert Mackay, Jordan Popson, Adam Popson, Bradley (Kristy) Sharp, and Brian (Virginia) Sharp; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by step-son, Michael Sharp; nephew, Joey Williams; brother, Jimmie Augustine; sister, Ann Williams; and Angie and Vince Belcastro.

Friends may call Friday, May 15, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline, with Rev. Christopher Bohnsack, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline or the National Osteoporosis Foundation in care of the funeral home.
