Bryan Michael Nickelson

Bryan Michael Nickelson, 29, of Bucyrus, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He lived in the area his entire life. 

Bryan was born in Galion on October 4, 1985 to Michael J. Nickelson, of Caledonia and Samantha (Wyatt) Gruss, of Tiffin. 

He attended Galion High School, Galion. He was employed by Baker’s Pizza, Bucyrus. Bryan played the piano and guitar. He loved to fish and cook, especially on the grill. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. 

He is survived by his parents Michael J. & Betty Nickelson, of Caledonia and Samantha L. (Wyatt) and Gary Gruss, of Tiffin, his sisters Sarah Gruss, Chicago, IL, Kathryn Gruss, Tiffin, and Erin Gruss, Tiffin, his brothers: Brian Gruss, Tiffin, and Justin Gruss, Tiffin, Richard & Brooke Sias, Marion and PFC Joshua Chaney, stationed with the U.S. Army, Anchorage, AK, his paternal grandparents James R. & Rita I. Nickelson, Avon Park, FL, his maternal grandmother Delores M. Wyatt, Bucyrus, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Robert C. Wyatt. 

Friends may call Friday, January 23, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion, OH, 44833. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Jim Nickelson, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Crawford County D.A.R.E. Program in care of the funeral home.
