BELLVILLE: God sends many beautiful things to this world, many noble gifts; but no blessing is richer than that which He bestows in a mother who has learned love's lessons well, and realized the meaning of her sacred calling. Beverly Sharp pursued a life characterized by Christian virtues, lavishing love on her family, and supporting her church family.
Beverly went to be with her Lord Saturday morning September 26, 2015 at Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital following a very sudden illness. She was 83.
Born December 6, 1931 in New London, she was the daughter of Ralph & Hulda (Underwood) Reed and was the youngest of six children. After graduating high school, Beverly went on to attend Bryan University to study Education.
On August 30, 1952, she married James Allen Sharp and they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away April 30, 2014. They are now together again.
Beverly was a faithful member of Ankenytown Grace Brethren Church where she taught Sunday School for many decades and was still actively teaching. She was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship and was a true prayer warrior who valued, above all else, the spiritual well-being of her family and friends.
Beverly was also a gifted seamstress who displayed many of her quilts at the Bellville Fair and gave quilted gifts to her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a kind and selfless woman who was her family’s biggest cheerleader.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Kevin) Sheasby of Ashland, sons Mike (Beth) Sharp of Louisville, Mark (Kelly) Sharp of Warsaw, IN, and Greg (Becky) Sharp of Bellville; grandchildren Cristie, Ben, Mandy, A.J., Sam, Nathan, Nik, Beth, Jim, Megan, Cassy, Jeremy, Jordan, Jesse, Reneé, Brad, Jason, Eliah, Ryan; 14 great grandchildren; extended family Sue (Ron) Schemmer of Pensacola, FL; siblings Frances Brogan, John (Iris) Reed, and Evelyn Radcliff; and her furry friends Maggie the dog and Molly the cat.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim Sharp; a son Tom Sharp; and brothers Charles Reed and Bob Reed.
Her family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home (81 Mill Road) where her funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Pastor Gary Kochheiser will officiate and burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington.
Memorial contributions to Child Evangelism Fellowship may be made through the funeral home.
