Betty Jane Roach, 86, passed away peacefully in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018.

Betty was born April 9, 1932 in Berlin Heights, Ohio to Robert and Marian (Currier) Zimmerman. She was the youngest of two children.

Betty is survived by her super-duper husband of 64 years, Carl Roach of Mansfield. Their union was blessed with first a set of triplets and then three more children added one-at-a-time to make their home complete.

In a time when most women were just entering the workforce, Betty, for 45 years, was successfully running her own business, Downtown Hair Designers, for 20 years Instructing Cosmetology at Pioneer Career and Technology Center, and with the help of her husband taking care of her family of 8. She was still shepherding her ever-expanding family until her passing.

Betty professed her life to Christ at an early age and she has been a faithful member of Mansfield Alliance Church, Mansfield, OH for 48 years. Betty loved to read her Bible, to pray for and with others. She wore an infectious smile on her face, laughed often, and loved spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She was a loving and caring person, always thinking of others first. To know her was to love her.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brother Ray. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband Carl; her children, Arlene (Larry) Parks of Maumee, OH, Darlene (Don) Daugherty, of Ontario, Ohio, Marlene Roach, of Westerville, Ohio, Dan (Karen) Roach, of Nashville, Tennessee, Scott (Deborah) Roach, of Olathe, Kansas, and Kelly (Bob) Ball, of Mansfield, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Jean Zimmerman; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may visit from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 at Mansfield Alliance Church, 291 West Cook Road. The funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Berlinville Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Roach family.
