Barbara Reindl

Barbara J. Reindl, 85, of Crestline, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 at Signature Healthcare, Galion after an extended illness.

Barbara was born in Morrow County on Feb. 24, 1929, to the late Curtis and Edna (Davis) Lenhart.

Barbara was a 1947 graduate of Galion High School and a 1954 graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing in Toledo. She retired from nursing in 1992 from Galion Community Hospital after previously working as a clinical instructor at St. Vincent, private duty nursing, Morrow County Hospital, serving as an office nurse for Dr. B. M. Mansfield, Crestline Hospital and Freedom Hall. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Galion, St. Vincent Alumni Association, Twig 3 of the Galion Hospital Auxiliary, Galion Golden Age Center, a former board member of American Cancer Society, Nurse Hope of 1984 for American Cancer Society and a member of AA since 1980.

Barbara volunteered for the Ohio Nurses Association for 7 years as a regional liaison for impaired nurses covering seven counties, HCM Hospice, Galion Hospital and the Golden Age Center. She enjoyed baking and giving away LOTS of cookies, sewing lap robes, quilts and pillows and giving them to the hospital, family and friends. 

She is survived by her step children, Rita Borders and Paul Reindl, her daughter-in-law, Paula (Jerry) Miller, her sister-in-law, Cathy Lenhart, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ed & Marilyn Tucker, sister-in-law, Claire Reindl, sister-in-law, Jackie Reindl, many step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great-great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers Roland D. and Merlyn (Mert) Lenhart, her former husband, Richard C. Reindl, her step sons Richard and Bruce Reindl, her brothers-in-law Dwayne, Paul, Bernard and Gene Reindl, her step granddaughter Melissa Borders, her great nephews Kirk Allen Roberts and Craig Taylor Farrow and her special friend of 25 years Henry Reed Shaffer.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 -5 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion.  Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastor Tim Wingert officiating.  Burial will follow in Fulton Cemetery, Fulton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Galion in care of the funeral home.
