Arley Crawford

Arley Crawford, 91, of Galion, died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 12, 2017. He resided with his daughter, Belinda Crawford and David Pratt for over a year.

Arley was born in Louisa, Kentucky on June 25, 1925 to the late Richard H. and Bertha S. (Thompson) Crawford.

Arley was employed for 46 years as a sheet-metal worker by Peabody of Galion until his retirement.

He was a member of the Galion Owls Aerie #4008, Galion, AMVETS Post #1979, Galion, and the Crawford County Coon Hunters Club, Crestline. Arley enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He loved being with people and would visit various Galion restaurants to be with them. Arley was very kind-hearted and always had a good sense of humor. He also enjoyed doing outside activities. 

He is survived by his daughters; Belinda Crawford (David Pratt), of Crestline, Sondra and Mike Egler, of Columbus, his step-son, Tim and Laurie Damron, of Delaware, his six grandchildren; Kylee Arter, of Covington, Kentucky, Kendra Miller, of Mt. Blanchard, Erin and Jarod Conley, of Boulder, Colorado, Ryan Quaintance, of Canal Winchester, Lindsay Damron, of Columbus, Kelsey and David Cosmos, of Delaware, his step-grandson, Takoda Pratt, of Ontario, his great-grandchildren; Rilynn Quaintance, Chase Conley, Miles Conley, his brothers, Charles Crawford, of Ontario, Joe and Betty Crawford, of Ft. Gay, West Virginia, and his sister, Virginia and Bill Lamb, of Crestline.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his baby sister, Mildred Crawford, his brother, Raymond Crawford, and his three sisters, Avonelle Hale, Faye Skendrovich, and Opal Valsamides. 

Friends may call Friday, June 16, 2017 after 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion, with Bill Lamb officiating.

Burial will follow in Ontario Community Cemetery, Ontario.
