Anna F. Slone

Anna F. Slone, 58, of Crestline, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at her home after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Anna was born in Mt. Gilead, on December 13, 1956 to the late Tremble and Grace (Neumann) Ball. She married Roger Slone on June, 2, 1975 and he survives her. On their 30th wedding anniversary, they took a cruise.

She was a 1994 graduate of Marion State Beauty Academy, Marion. She was employed, for the last four years, by Village Cuttery, Galion as a cosmetologist. Anna was a member of the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, Marion. She was a member of Friends of the Park at Lowe Volk Park, Crestline where she volunteered. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, scrapbooking, flowers, traveling, and going to the Outer Banks to spend time on the beach. Anna was a counselor for her family and a caregiver to everyone she met, she was also known to be a little ornery. She was very proud of all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters: Sheila & Brian Maley, Bucyrus and Loretta Slone & Jon Butler, Marion; her six grandchildren: Emily Maley, Jacob Maley, Danika Maley, Ivan Butler, Zane Smith and Adalee Butler; her three brothers and two sisters: Steven & Delores Ball, Huron, Martin & Judy Ball, Galion, Malinda Freeman & Dan Slater, Galion, Jill & Bruce Freeman, Galion and Clyde & Terri Ball, Marion and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Thursday at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday June 18, 2015 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Galion, with Rev. Paul McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow in Olentangy Cemetery, Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lowe Volk Park or HomeCare Matters, Home Health and Hospice in care of the funeral home.
