Anna Budea

Anna J. (Stankevich) Budea, 90, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014, following a brief illness.

Anna was born on June 7, 1924 in Lithuania to Victor and Anna Stankevich.  She graduated in 1942 from Wellsburg High School.  Anna was a Life Guard and taught swimming at the YMCA, since the 1960’s, only recently retiring.  She was very athletic and ran marathons until she was in her 70’s.  Anna enjoyed baking, reading, and walking her dog, Buffy.  For many years, she donated blood to The Red Cross.  For the last several years, Anna volunteered at the hospital.  She was a member of the Venus Lodge 152 of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by four children, Kurt V. Budea, Karen (Ernie) Schuster, Derek Budea, and Doreen Budea, all of Mansfield; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Budea; one brother, Victor Stankevich: and one sister, Julia Stankevich.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the YMCA Aquatic Dept, 750 Scholl Rd, Mansfield, OH 44907. 

Private family services will be held at a later date.  Burial will take place at Mansfield Memorial Park.
