All northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 71 have re-opened after a crash this morning near the Richland County/Morrow County line.
The Ohio Department of Transportation reported north- and south-bond lanes of the highway were closed Thursday at 4:27 a.m.
On its website as of 5:45 a.m., ODOT reported the southbound lanes were open again. ODOT reported around 7 a.m. all lanes are now open.
Some media outlets are reporting the accident occurred when a driver headed the wrong way on I-71 crashed into an Ohio State Highway Patrol cruiser, injuring the driver.
Both the trooper and the other driver were reportedly injured, though no other details were immediately available.
"Ohio Going Blue" posted on Facebook asking for “thoughts and prayers” for the trooper, but said they had no information on the trooper’s condition.
