UPDATE (This story was updated on Oct. 26 at 11:15 a.m.): NORWALK – A Greenwich woman and a Detroit woman were killed and a 2-year-old child was among three others hurt in a Monday morning crash in Huron County, according to the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Marcia Nicole Barnett, 31, of Greenwich, died of her injuries Monday afternoon, the Patrol reported on Tuesday morning.

Timbra Deann Conley, 38, of Detroit, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash which occurred on Monday, Oct. 25 at approximately 11:52 a.m., on Old State Road at Boughtonville Road in Ripley Township, Huron County.

Drake Lucas Reed, 25, of Sandusky, was driving a white 2008 Jeep Patriot northbound on Old State Road. Conley was a passenger in the Jeep Patriot along with a 2-year-old child.

Barnett was driving a black 2009 Chrysler Town and Country westbound on Boughtonville Road. Jackie Elizabeth Biddle, 39, of Detroit, was a passenger in the Chrysler Town and Country.

According to the Patrol, Reed failed to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection of Old State Road and Boughtonville Road and struck the Chrysler Town and Country being driven by Barnett. Both vehicles traveled off the north side of the roadway after the crash.

Reed was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He received serious injuries and was transported by Mercy Life Flight to Ohio Health Mansfield.

Conley was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced deceased on scene by the Huron County Coroner. The 2-year-old child was in a child safety seat that was not properly secured. He received possible injuries and was transported by Willard EMS to Mercy Hospital Willard.

Barnett was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means. She received serious injuries and was transported by North Central EMS to Fisher Medical Center.

Biddle was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. She received possible injuries and was not transported from the scene by EMS.

Failure to yield and unsafe speed are suspected factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Assisting agencies include Huron County Sheriff’s Office, Willard Fire/EMS, North Central EMS, Mercy Life Flight, The Huron County Coroner’s Officer, and A&M Towing.
