MANSFIELD -- The Ohio Department of Transportation has released its construction report for the week of Sept. 9.
As a result, Richland County drivers are urged to use caution on these roads:
State Route 13 & 97
SR 13/97, within the Village of Bellville, will close Wednesday, Sept. 11 due to the annual Bellville Street Fair. SR 13/97 will be closed between Durbin Ave. and Ogle St. The detour route for southbound motorists is west on Ogle St, south on Belle St., east on Durbin Ave., and back to SR 13/97.The detour route for northbound motorists is east on Durbin Ave., north on Huron St., and west on Ogle St., and back to SR 13/97. The road is expected to reopen Saturday, Sept. 15, 2019.
US 30 Westbound Entrance Ramp Closure
The entrance ramp from Reed Rd. to US 30 westbound will close Monday, Sept. 16 for structure repairs to the Reed Rd. bridge over US 30.
The detour route for motorists traveling US 30 westbound from Reed Rd. will be to continue north on Reed Rd. to Crider Rd., west on Crider Rd. to Laver Rd., and south on Laver Rd. to US 30 westbound. The ramp is expected to reopen Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019.
US Route 30: Resurfacing Project
US 30, from just west of the Lexington/Springmill interchange to the SR 309 interchange, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Daily/nightly lane closures will tentatively begin Monday, Aug. 12 for pavement repairs. Lane widths will be reduced to 11’ in each direction during the duration of the project. The project is expected to be complete August 2020.
US Route 30: Bridge Repairs
US 30, at the Reed Road overpass bridge, will single lane closures for a bridge repair project. The project is expected to be complete October 2019.
US Route 42
US 42, from Grace St. in the City of Mansfield to Baney Rd. in the City of Ashland, will have intermittent lane closures for a resurfacing project. Crews will perform night work as needed from Crider Rd. to Stewart Rd. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. The project is expected to be complete October 2019.
I-71, between CR 32 (Mock Rd.) to the Ashland County line, will have daily and nightly lane closures northbound and southbound for a resurfacing project. Crews will have nightly lane closures northbound and southbound for smoothness profiling and deck sealing. The project is expected to be complete September 2019.
State Route 97
SR 97, between the Richland/Ashland County line and SR 3, is closed for a resurfacing project. Access will be maintained to the Mohican Memorial State Forest throughout the duration of the project. Crews continue to work on the east end of the project, so access to the forest from SR 3 will be detoured to the west entrance from SR 97. Motorists will only be able to access the west entrance to the park during this time.
Access from the west side of the forest is expected to last until Monday, Sept. 9, at which time access will then switch to the east side of the project, while crews work on the west side of the project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 97 to SR 95, northeast on SR 95 to SR 39, southeast on SR 39 to SR 3, southwest on SR 3 to SR 97, and reverse for westbound motorists. Local traffic will still have access onto SR 97; however, access will only be allowed by entering the zone westbound or eastbound on SR 97. The Project Engineer will work with those who need access and notify them which direction they will be allowed to enter the zone. The entire project is expected to be complete October 2019.
