MANSFIELD -- Mothers in Mansfield, prepare to be pampered this autumn.

The Richland Source is hosting a community baby shower for all mothers, expectant mothers, fathers and families on Saturday, Sept. 9. The event will be funded in part through a grant from the Solutions Journalism Network.

The baby shower will take place at the Richland Source's new location, 40 W. Fourth St.

The shower will connect mothers and families in Richland County with a myriad of resources available to them through community health organizations.

It will also provide an opportunity for women and families to interact with Richland Source, and help us inform local readers of important stories that will aid in the community's fight against infant mortality.

Ultimately, the community baby shower serves as a community engagement event through a grant won by Richland Source from the Solutions Journalism Network. Richland Source received the grant in early 2017 to further the work started in the series Healing Hope, discussing the issues of infant mortality and the services available locally to combat it.

UPDATE: If you plan on attending the Community Baby Shower, please click here to RSVP. The first 100 to submit an RSVP will automatically be entered in a drawing to win large door prizes like car seats, high chairs, and cribs. Your RSVP will also help us tremendously in our ongoing efforts to serve you on September 9.
