MANSFIELD — Do you need to get a new car seat or booster seat for your growing child?

Richland Public Health, through the Ohio Department of Health “Ohio Buckles Buckeyes” program, has no-cost car seats available.

Although it has no infant seats, the agency does have:

Booster Seat for ages 5 to 8 years old.

To qualify, you must meet these requirements:

Child is 6-months old or older.

You are a resident of Richland County.

You are registered with the WIC program or on Medicaid.

All seats must be installed in your own vehicle and the child(ren) getting the seat must be present.

If you meet those qualifications, call 419-774-4726 for an appointment during the month of June. If no one answers, leave your name, a call back number, and the age of your child.

Richland Public Health has three Child Passenger Safety Technicians to help you install your new seat.

The agency will also do free inspections of any existing seat installs, including infants seats.
