COLUMBUS — Richland County Prosecutor Gary Bishop spent Tuesday at the Ohio Statehouse in meetings with Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina), as part of the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association’s legislative outreach day.
Obhof and Bishop discussed the Senate’s work on criminal justice reform efforts, capital punishment and other issues.
The prosecutors’ legislative days are aimed at increasing dialogue between county prosecutors and state legislators.
“It was great to see Gary Bishop at the Statehouse,” Obhof said. “Both he and Ashland County Prosecutor Chris Tunnell provided insights into their important work, as well as valuable perspectives on pending litigation.”
“This kind of one-one-one interaction with Senate President Obhof is wonderful,” Bishop said. “It’s a great opportunity not only to see how dedicated and hard-working our Senate President is, but also to have a meaningful dialogue with him about the issues that affect the citizens of Richland County and all Ohioans.”
