GREEN TOWNSHIP -- A 31-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured Thursday at approximately 7:07 p.m. in a collision with a car, according to the Ashland Post of the Highway Patrol.

Benjamin Geiser from Dalton in Wayne County was driving a 2018 Honda motorcycle northeast on Ohio 95 when it struck the rear of a 2017 Toyota Corolla turning left into a private drive, troopers said.

Geiser, who was wearing a helmet, received serious, but not life threatening injuries, as a result of the crash. The driver of the car, Kirra Kinney, 28, from Mansfield, was not injured, troopers said.

Ohio 95 was temporarily closed while the crash was being investigated.

Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office and Perrysville Fire and EMS.

Alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, according to troopers. The crash is still under investigation.
