Ohio State Highway Patrol car

MOUNT GILEAD -- A Morrow County man was killed on Sunday morning after a one-vehicle crash on County Road 59 near Township Road 62 in Canaan Township, according to the Mount Gilead Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Chad A. Kitts, 40, of Edison, was driving a black 1999 Honda Civic westbround on County Road 59 when he drove off the left side of the road, struck a utility pole, a ditch, a fence, and rolled one time. The vehicle came to rest on all four tires, the Patrol stated.

The incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. Kitts was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt, the Patrol stated.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Morrow County Sheriff's Office, the Morrow County EMS, and the Mount Gilead Fire Department.
