MANSFIELD -- The Mansfield Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating a subject wanted in connection with a shooting Monday morning in the city.
According to Mansfield Police, Josh’shun Anderson is wanted in connection with a felonious assault incident that took place at approximately 11:47 a.m.
Mansfield Police reported that officers responded to the 300 black of Remy Avenue in reference to a shooting. While en route, officers were advised that the two vehicles involved had fled the area and that the “shooter” was in a white Mercedes truck/van. A short time later, the victims who were in the other vehicle involved in the incident were located and contacted.
Police said that during the course of the investigation, it was determined that Josh’shun Deonte Anderson, 22, was identified as the person responsible for firing the shots at the other vehicle. The incident was a result of a verbal altercation that had occurred prior to the shooting between Anderson and persons inside the vehicle.
"The victim’s vehicle was struck by gunfire during the incident but fortunately, none of the four occupants; including two young children, were injured," said Mansfield Police Capt. Shari Robertson.
A “Felonious Assault” warrant has been issued for Anderson’s arrest in reference to this incident. He was last seen wearing a dark teal t-shirt and black shorts.
"Josh’shun Anderson is considered armed and dangerous and it is our hope that he turn himself in on the charges," Robertson said. "We are asking that anyone who has information concerning Mr. Anderson’s whereabouts to please call Mansfield Dispatch at 419-522- 1234 or 911.
"Please do not approach Mr. Anderson or put yourself at personal risk."
