MILTON TOWNSHIP -- A 63-year-old Mansfield man was killed in a hit-skip accident along U.S. 42 late Tuesday night in Ashland County, according to the Ashland Post of the State Highway Patrol.

Mark Ramsey was standing next to his disabled pick-up truck at 11:06 p.m. near Milton Township Road 1688 when he was struck by a passing northbound vehicle, the patrol said.

The vehicle didn't stop  after the crash and continued north, according to troopers, who said Ramsey was taken to the OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers said the vehicle that struck Ramsey was possibly a silver Dodge pick-up truck and will likely have damage to the front, right headlight assembly and passenger side-view mirror.

Troopers are asking for the public's help in locating the alleged hit-skip vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ashland Post at 419-289-0911.
