MANSFIELD -- The Mansfield Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance has announced its first Community Day, scheduled Saturday, Aug. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event, which organizers hope will be an annual celebration, will be at Liberty Park on Grace Street with the theme of "Unity in the Community: Celebrating Learning Together Again."
Families of students in grades K-8 will receive backpacks with school supplies and hygiene kits.
Organizers said it's an opportunity for the community to come together for fun, family friendly activities, food, prizes, community resources and more.
M.I.M.A. is grateful to have the support and collaboration of Mansfield Richland County Public Library, Crossroads Community Center, UMADAOP, Be the Light Foundation, Cleveland Clinic, Faith Temple, Restored Visions, and the Mansfield YMCA.
The entire community is invited to be a part of this event.
The M.I.M.A Community Day Committee is asking local businesses, churches, and organizations to provide resource tables. Donations and sponsorships are also being accepted.
Anyone interested in supporting the event can do so by contacting Carla James at 419-573-9895 or firstname.lastname@example.org. or Dr. Larry Rawls at 419-544-1093.
