MANSFIELD -- A man whom police did not identity was shot Thursday night by another man after an argument, according to a press release from the Mansfield Police Department.

Police responded to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital at 8:48 p.m. after a report of a gunshot victim walking into the emergency room, according to the police, who issued the press release just after midnight.

Officers contacted the victim, who told authorities he was walking on Logan Road near South Main Street and got into an argument with another man.

The victim, who was being treated for non-life threatening injuries, told police he was shot during the argument.

The MPD major crimes detectives are continuing to follow up on leads and talk to witnesses. Anyone with information regarding the shooting can contact Detective Terry Butler at 419-755-9791 or Detective Ronnee Swisher at 419-755-9432.

It's the fourth shooting incident in Mansfield this year. A woman was shot on Jan. 17 on Arthur Avenue, a man on Helen Avenue on Jan. 3 and a man was shot on New Year's Day on North Walnut Street.
