HURON COUNTY -- A 53-year-old Greenwich woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday at 4:54 p.m. on Ohio 60 in southern Huron County, according to the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Liane Field was southbound on Ohio 60 in a 2004 Buick LeSabre when the vehicle went left of center and collided head-on with a northbound 2018 Ford Explorer, driven by Michael Abfall, 74, of New London.

The crash occurred north of Eaton Road in Clarksfield Township, troopers said.

Field, who trooper said was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries as from the crash. Two rear-seat passengers in her car, Mark Howell, 50, and a 2-year-old child, were injured.

Howell, also not wearing a safety belt, sustained incapacitating injuries. He was transported to Fisher Titus Hospital then later to Cleveland MetroHealth. The child, who was restrained in a child safety seat during the crash, was also transported to Fisher Titus Hospital and was later flown to Cleveland MetroHealth with critical injuries.

Abfall, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported to Fisher Titus Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries. Patricia Abfall,  72, also of New London, occupied the right front passenger in the Ford and was wearing her safety belt. She was also transported to Fisher Titus Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries, troopers said.

Alcohol and/or drug usage is not suspected as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
