GREENWICH -- An 18-year-old Greenwich man was killed Thursday night after a one-vehicle crash on Plymouth East Road, according to the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

David France Jr., 18, of Greenwich, was driving a 1998 Buick Regal eastbound on Plymouth East Road when he lost control of his car and went off the right side of the road striking a ditch. The Patrol reports that he overturned several times before coming to rest on his driver’s door in a farm field.

The incident took place just east of Ohio 13 in Greenwich Township at approximately 10:20 p.m.

The Patrol reported that unsafe speed and alcohol are considered contributing factors in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.

Assisting on scene were the Huron County Sherriff’s Office, Greenwich Fire Department, North Central EMS, Eastman Funeral Home, and Clark Brother’s Towing.
