MANSFIELD — The Richland County Board of Elections met Wednesday and certified the results of the Nov. 3 general election, according to Paulette Hankins, the county’s elections director.
There were 60,336 votes cast in the county out of 82,764 registered voters, meaning that voter turnout was 72.9 percent.
Of the votes, 20,954 (25.32 percent) were cast on election day. Another 38,033 (49.95 percent) were done absentee and 1,349 (1.63 percent) were accepted as provisional.
Voter turnout was higher than 2016 (68.4 percent), but lower than 2012 (78.3 percent).
