Ohio House of Representatives Speaker Robert Cupp

MANSFIELD -- New Ohio House of Representatives Speaker Robert Cupp will speak Monday during the monthly Richland County Republican Party luncheon in the Kobacher Room at DLX Events and Catering, 28 N. Main St.

The luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m.

A Republican from Lima, Cupp is serving his third term in the Ohio House of Representatives.

He grew up working on his family’s farm in rural Allen County. A graduate of Columbus Grove Local schools, he earned his political science and law degrees from Ohio Northern University.

Cupp has served as an elected official in all three branches of government and at both the local and state levels: as an Allen County commissioner, a four-term state senator, a court-of-appeals judge, and a justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio.

He also served as a city prosecutor and as chief legal counsel to former Ohio State Auditor Dave Yost.

Cupp had a private law practice in Lima for more than 25 years and has taught courses in leadership studies, judicial process, and state education policy at Ohio Northern University.

Jane Timken, chair of the Ohio Republican Party, will also attend the luncheon.

Due to COVID-19, reservations must be made in advance for the luncheon and order $10 boxed lunches ahead of time. RSVP to 419-528-8223 or rcohgop@gmail.com.
