Incumbent Tom Kanney is joined on the Nov. 2 general election ballot by Thomas Miller, Keith Beverage and Nickolas Fairchild. The four-year term begins Jan. 1, 2022.
The 61-year-old Kanney is seeking re-election after serving on the board for the past four years. A Plymouth High School graduate, Kanney retired from RR Donnelley in Willard after 32 years.
“I have lived in Plymouth all of my life and want to keep the township a safe and well-maintained place to live,” Kanney said. “It is also important to me to keep the taxpayers money well-used to improve the Township of Plymouth.
“I’m always ready to listen and work with any resident who has a concern that they need help with.”
Miller, 62, recently retired from the United States Postal Service after 35 years. He was also a member of the Plymouth-Shiloh Local School District Board of Education for 20 years.
“In the 20 years that I was on the school board, we were able to keep a balanced budget,” Miller said. “We were also able to build a new high school with a minimal amount of expense to taxpayers. That was the beginning of the complex that we have now. It is a first-rate facility and the employees there have worked hard to keep it that way.
“I have lived in Plymouth Township since 1982 and would enjoy the opportunity to help take care of the roads and other various tasks that the trustees do.”
Keith Beverage
A heavy equipment mechanic, Beverage doesn’t have any experience as an elected official, but is looking forward to the opportunity.
"I am running for office because I have seen how hardworking our road man, Roger Baird is, and what a wonderful job he and current township trustee Tom Kanney have been doing,” Beverage said. “I truly would like to make that same impact in continuing to make our township one of the best in the area.”
The 38-year-old Beverage and his wife have two daughters.
“I am running for township trustee to do my part in serving our township,” Beverage said. “I am excited to help maintain and improve our township to ensure a safe and clean neighborhood for my family and all other residents.
“I currently hold my CDL so I can assist in keeping our roads clear of snow in the winter and assist with maintenance in the summertime. I feel that all trustees should assist with the work of the township. I am willing to be out clearing the roads as soon as possible to ensure safe travels for our school buses and also for our residents during their morning commutes.”
