GREEN TOWNSHIP – Troopers are investigating a single vehicle Fatal Crash involving a Ford Focus that occurred on State Route 511 just south of Mile Post 3 at approximately 2:12 a.m. Sunday morning.

A 2015 Ford Focus was southbound on SR 511 when it went off the road to the right, struck a guardrail and overturned into a ravine. Both occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

Occupants of the Ford Focus, Lacy Kay Sprang, 37 years old, from Perrysville, Ohio, and Matthew A Evans, 37 years old, also from Perrysville, were pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of their injuries.

State Route 511 was closed for approximately four hours while the scene was being processed.

Other agencies assisting at the crash scene were: Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Perrysville Fire and EMS, Hayesville Fire and EMS, Ashland County Coroner’s Office and Ohio Edison.

Neither occupant is believed to have been wearing a safety belt. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash. The crash is still currently under investigation.
