The “Coolest Dog” Contest was conducted by The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield.
This recently concluded fundraiser was designed to raise funds for the purchase of a transport vehicle for The Friendly House, allowing them to more efficiently carry out their mission of mentoring the children of our area.
Together with the generous support of Warren Rupp Inc. and the IDEX Foundation, a mini-bus was purchased for The Friendly House by Director Terry Conard and will be unveiled at the event.
“In celebration of the upcoming 100th birthday of our club, we are so excited to be able to impact The Friendly House in such a positive manner,” said Jessica Dulle, campaign chairman.
Homer the “Coolest Dog” was professionally photographed by DRM Productions, and will be featured by iHeart Media, Mix 106, WMFD-TV, the Phoenix Brewery, the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield and other partner websites.
Second- and thir- place winners will also be professionally photographed by DRM Productions.
Cash prizes will be awarded to “The Coolest Dog in Richland County” through the support of Richland Bank. Homer will receive $300, second place $200 and third place $100.
Dollars raised through the contest went to the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield and were donated to the Friendly House.
The contest was held from March 14 through April 26 and sought nominations of “coolest dogs” throughout North Central Ohio. A $10 entry fee provided 10 votes.
The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield was chartered in June 1920. Its partnership with the Friendly House dates back to 1922.
