LEXINGTON – A Bellville man was killed Saturday afternoon after a 1-vehicle fatal crash in Troy Township, according to the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The Patrol report states that Ronald Broeske, 62, of Bellville, was driving a 2003 Ford F-250 northbound on State Route 546. It appears he failed to negotiate a curve, slid off the left side of the roadway, and struck an embankment which caused the vehicle to roll over multiple times.

Broeske was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on scene by Bob Ball of the Richland County Coroner's office.

The incident took place at approximately 2:56 p.m. near mile post 8 in Troy Township. Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Troy Township Fire and EMS, the Lexington Police Department and Shelly and Sons Towing.
