TROY TOWNSHIP -- A 40-year-old Nova woman was killed Tuesday evening when struck by a vehicle while she and two juveniles were walking a dog along Troy Township Road 1031.

According to the Ashland Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 9:16 p.m.

Troopers said Jennifer Lynne Boreman was walking her dog with two juveniles when she was struck by a southbound passing vehicle that then fled the accident scene.

The dog and one of the juveniles were also struck. Boreman was pronounced dead at the scene. The dog also died, troopers said.

The injured juvenile was transported to Rainbow Babies and Children in Cleveland. The uninjured juvenile was transported to University Hospital Ashland for evaluation and released, the patrol said.

The vehicle is possibly a pick-up truck and will have damage to one of the front headlights and grille area, according to troopers.

Troopers are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the hit-skip vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact either the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office at (419) 289-1911 or the Ohio State Highway Patrol at (419) 289-0911.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office, Ruggles–Troy Fire and EMS and the Ashland County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation, troopers said.
