About McCready Interiors

Operating since: 1924

In 1924 W.G. McCready began a family legacy of selling furniture in the Mansfield area in a store located on the square, downtown. He moved the business to Lexington and later to Lucas, where it remained for many years. He established his business on the solid principles of: hard work, integrity, customer service and selling quality furniture.
In 1947 McCready purchased a farm on West 4th Street and, with the help of his sons Don & Bob, built W.G. McCready and Sons Furniture. Then, in 1996, Tom and Bob McCready, along with Tom’s wife Julie, opened Norwalk the Furniture Idea on Lexington-Springmill Road, within eyesight of the former McCready building on West 4th Street.
In 2008 Tom and Julie decided to bring back McCready Interiors to their existing store and add the name to the building as a way to highlight their family legacy and remind the community that not only did they sell quality furniture, but they also offered residential and commercial design services.
Now, in 2018 McCready Interiors/Norwalk the Furniture Idea has stood the test of time in the Mansfield area, having survived the economic recession and the closing of the Mansfield General Motors production plant. We have continued to provide quality design services and America-made furniture for over 90 years. Hard work, integrity, customer service and selling quality furniture continue to form the base of our business philosophy.
