First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH 44902
It has been three full years ago that we at First English Lutheran Church began offering a Free Produce Distribution to our community. It all began with a contact to the Greater Cleveland Food Bank and their resources for fresh fruits and vegetables which come from a surplus of farmer’s and wholesaler’s produce. Their employees have been wonderful to deal with, giving us instruction on civil rights, data entry, ordering contacts, required provisions, etc. We conduct our distribution on the second Tuesday of each month, April through November. Our volunteers are fabulous and of course no one is taking a salary — it’s all to God’s Glory that we serve.
The Produce Distribution is open to all who come, merely supplying us with proper identification. No proof of income is required, and we know that the need is great here in our community! We do ask people to bring bags and rolling carts if they have them, however our volunteers happily will help folks to their vehicles. Monthly we post a reminder on Facebook, Richland Source, Tribune Courier, and all local community bulletin boards.
You can find us at the corner of Park Avenue West and South Mulberry St. on the second Tuesday, April through November 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. It’s good to show up a bit early to get registered. Everyone welcome!
