The Muppets Christmas Carol

MANSFIELD -- The Renaissance will show the second of four films in its Family Film Series, “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.

The movie series is part of the Spherion Staffing Family Film Series.

In this beloved holiday film, the Muppets perform the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine). Other Muppets -- Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Sam the Eagle -- weave in and out of the story, while Scrooge receives visits from spirits of three Christmases -- past, present and future.

They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but the miserable old man seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness.

The remaining films in the series include: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, March 17; Raiders of the Lost Ark, June 2.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at the Renaissance Box Office, at the door, via phone at 419-522-2726 and online at MansfieldTickets.com/film.
