MANSFIELD -- Miss Ohio has shined a bright light on north central Ohio for years.
It's become a summer-time ritual. Just as school ends and the temperatures begin to warm, Miss Ohio candidates converge on Mansfield. The community takes great pride in it. The event is a chance to show off the historic Renaissance Theatre, and parade of contestants kicks off a week worth of activities.
This year 22 young ladies, ranging in age from 18 to 24 and hailing from each corner of the state, will vie to earn the crown won last year by Miss Maple City Matti-Lynn Chrisman, of Cambridge. Be sure to check out this photo gallery, which introduces all of the contestants, outlines their backgrounds, and discusses each of their platforms.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Outstanding Teen Pageant takes the stage.
On Thursday and Friday, beginning at 7 p.m., the Preliminaries take place.
The Miss Ohio Finals and Crowning are scheduled for Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
