MANSFIELD – The Mansfield in Bloom steering committee issued a call to the community on Monday to help with a clean-up this week.
The America in Bloom judges will be in town on Thursday and Friday to review the community’s efforts in this year’s competition.
Suggested activities for the clean-up include litter pick up, pulling weeds, sweeping sidewalks, and more. Businesses are also encouraged to participate in the clean-up.
If residents or businesses need bags and gloves for clean-up efforts, they can contact Kim Hildreth, Program Coordinator for the City of Mansfield at 419-755-9689.
This is the third year that Mansfield has participated in the America in Bloom competition. In 2017, the city has received “Outstanding Achievement for Landscaping” in 2017. In 2018, Mansfield was named the Champion in the 25,000 – 75,000 population category as well as receiving the “Coolest Place for Kids” award.
America in Bloom (AIB) promotes nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements.
