MANSFIELD — The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield is set to launch The Purr-fect Cat in Richland County fundraiser on Aug. 15 at noon during a press conference at Cypress Cellars at Hudson & Essex.
“In celebration of the upcoming 100th birthday of our club, we want to continue this very successful project that will have a lasting impact on our closest community partner, The Friendly House," said Jessica Dulle, Campaign Co-Chairman. "Together with the generous support of Warren Rupp Inc. and the IDEX Foundation, The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield recently concluded The Coolest Dog in Richland County.
"The event raised $17,000 toward the purchase of a mini-bus for the Friendly House. Funds from The Purr-fect Cat in Richland County will help Friendly House purchase a second mini-bus.”
The contest is open from Aug. 15 through Sept. 20 and seeks nomination of “purr-fect cats” throughout North Central Ohio. A $10 entry fee provides you with 10 votes.
Nominations should include a digital photograph of your favorite cat and a paragraph describing why he or she is The Purr-fect Cat in Richland County.
“In remembrance” nominations are also encouraged. Votes are $1 each with no limit on how many times you can purchase votes. Nominations and voting take place at www.gogophotocontest.com/thekiwanisclubofmansfield.
The winner of The Purr-fect Cat in Richland County will be announced Oct. 12 at Cypress Cellars at Hudson & Essex and featured on the label of a limited edition wine by the winery. The winner also will be professionally photographed by DRM Productions, and featured by iHeart Media, Mix 106, WMFD-TV, the Cypress Cellars at Hudson & Essex Website, the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield and other partner websites.
The top 10 cats in the competition will be professionally photographed by DRM Productions and will be featured on the back of the new Friendly House mini-bus.
Cash prizes will be awarded to The Purr-fect Cat in Richland County through the support of Richland Bank. First place will receive $300, second place $200 and third place $100.
Dollars raised through the contest will go to the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield and will be donated to The Friendly House, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in Mansfield, Ohio.
The Kiwanis Club of Mansfield was chartered in June 1920. It’s partnership with the Friendly House dates back to 1924.
