Live on the lawn

MANSFIELD -- Kingwood Center Gardens has announced its summer concert series, Live on the Lawn, is returning for its second year.

Live on the Lawn features a free concert every Thursday in July on Kingwood’s South Lawn. The July 4 concert will feature Ohio-based classic rock band, The Return.

Each week, families can also enjoy outdoor games in STARTEK’s Family Fun Zone during the concert and Richland Bank’s Rascal’s Dance Party that begins at 6:45 p.m.

Rascal will be at all Live on the Lawn concerts, with the exception of July 4.

Free admission begins at 6 p.m. and the concert begins at 7. Visitors need to bring a lawn chair or blanket and may bring food and drinks to enjoy. Food trucks will provide a variety of food options for purchase. Buehler’s Food Truck, Ferris, will provide food service on July 4.

Visitors attending Live on the Lawn are encouraged to park on Linden Road, at Mansfield Senior High School, or at the former Pizza Hot lot located at 856 Park Ave. West.

Kingwood’s Park Avenue lot will be reserved for handicap parking only. Shuttle by golf cart will be available from the Linden Road gate to the South Lawn. if needed.

Concerts will be moved to the Carriage House in case of inclement weather.
