MANSFIELD — Mansfield-area artist Martha Fort has opened her studio and gallery on the 10th floor of the Farmers/Chase Building, located at the corner of Walnut and Park Ave West.

On display now are acrylic paintings the artist created while she and her partner traveled in a motorhome which pulled her trailer studio. Most of the works contain water and waterfowl in habitats from South Padre Island, Florida, Massachusetts, Louisiana and Alabama.

The “Travelogue” exhibit will be on display until June 6.

Martha Fort holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green State University and her career has always been in the art field. She was a muralist for The Carousel Works for six years and prior to that was the Marketing Director for the Renaissance Theatre and Mansfield Symphony Orchestra for eight years.

She was an art instructor at Mansfield Art Center for many years and taught commercial art at Antonelli School of Art and was an illustrator for Standard Publishing Company, both located in Cincinnati.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., and weekends by appointment. COVID safety precautions are in place.

In future exhibits Martha will be sharing the gallery walls with other area artists, and teaching art lessons and workshops, since the space is also a working art studio.

The 10th Floor Gallery with a View is located at Suite 1002, 28 Park Avenue West in downtown Mansfield. For more information call Martha Fort at 567-241-6170.
