MANSFIELD -- G. Tate and Associates Community Service is partnering with Maddox Memorial Church of God in Christ, Pastor Elder Aaron Williams Jr., to host "Love and Grief: An Evening of Community Sharing Faith, Hope, and Strength" to celebrate community members and promote sharing about grief.
The event is Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Maddox Memorial Church of God in Christ, 1148 Walker Lake Road.
The keynote speaker will be Ike Brown Sr., who works as a sergeant with the Jacksonville Aviation Authority Police Department. He will share his inspiring story of service, and how he continues to overcome the killing of his son.
There will be a diverse group of community members who will share stories of faith, hope, and strength.
The Mansfield Community Choir, under the leadership of Greater Mitchell Chapel AME Minister of Music, Winston Greene. will sing. Faith Temple Church of God in Christ Minister of Music Maestro Garlan McCruter, Sr., will serve as the director of music. James Davis Sr., The McCruter Sisters, Jamie Hilliard and James and Helen Deaton will also share musical selections.
Community members expected to speak are Pastor Aaron Williams, Jr., Buffi Williams, Aurelio Diaz, Rev. Dr. Laurence Rawls, Pastor Mark Cobb, Rev. Joe Ashby, and Elder Tiger Bradley.
GTA Community Service will honor community members who are an example of faith, hope, and strength.
