MANSFIELD — The 17th annual Candice Williams Helping Hands Foundation is offering a free meal from the Mansfield Friendly House on Thanksgiving Day from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Due to the pandemic there are no eat-ins and all meals are to go.

“Our foundation consists of helping people in many areas of life regardless of race, creed, religion or economic background,” stated Ben and Theresa Williams, of the organization. “We want to have resources available for everyone and if we cannot help we can certainly direct them to other resources.”

In the past the Candice Williams Helping Hands Foundation has adopted 24 families for Christmas and have house-cleaned and window-cleaned for senior citizens. The agency has also assisted families with meals after funerals.

“We gave three families used mini vans and have assisted single mothers with car repairs,” Williams organizers stated. “We assisted a single mom whose home was damaged by a devastating fire.”

The Candice Williams Helping Hands Foundation is also seeking volunteers and donations.

“We want to thank everyone who has helped in the past,” organizers said. “This is our 17th year and we want you know we could not do this without you and the help of the community.

“This year is a challenge but we look forward to giving everyone a dinner to go.”
