MANSFIELD – It's time to celebrate the arts as the Art Festival returns to Central Park in downtown Mansfield.
On Saturday, Sept. 18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., an array of artists celebrating all forms of art will gather in the park and throughout the city to entertain and dazzle the public with an extraordinary cultural experience.
In addition to the many artists selling their art, the Columbus Chalk Art Guild will be creating chalk murals on the streets. Todd and Tanya Reed will be demonstrating live special effect movie make-up and the one and only Terrence “The Gawdshow” Davis, formerly of Mansfield, will be performing his special brand of comedy while emceeing the special dance and music performances scheduled throughout the day starting at 10:45 a.m.
Additional events will be the grand opening of the New Creations Gallery at the Mosaic Church and Kingwood Center will host an art tour called Statues and Fountains, giving free admission to the first twenty people. Monster paintings are on display at the craft brewery, Phoenix. The
The Renaissance Theatre is opening its doors for the Symphony Orchestra rehearsal while wood carver Tim Gorka will be creating in front of Lucah Designs. Parents are encouraged to visit the Carrousel and Little Buckeye Children’s Museum, and, in addition, the Mansfield Public Library will be doing a children’s tent.
For the first time in the park, the Ohio State of Mind, an award-winning acapella group from OSU will be performing. Food trucks and downtown restaurants will be available and open.
