SHELBY – Gone are the days of just congratulating students as they walk across the stage. On Tuesday, May 18 at 7 p.m.

Pioneer graduates are being celebrated and the seniors are telling their story during the premier of the 2021 Virtual Awards Ceremony and Senior Celebration. Pioneer is keeping with its traditions but they have been enhanced to celebrate the student’s stories, and recognize their accomplishments and future endeavors.

With 490 seniors graduating, they will be presented with their Pioneer Career Passports and recognized for over $3 million in scholarships at the same time. A link to the ceremony will be on Pioneer’s website (www.go2pioneer.com) and it will air on Pioneer’s YouTube channel.

Families are encouraged to take screenshots of their graduate on their smartphones and computers and post them on social media and tag Pioneer.

To complete this monumental task of putting the ceremony together, the Pioneer seniors were filmed earlier this month then students in the Pioneer Media Communications lab worked to make a masterpiece! All of the information that appears under the name of each graduate was submitted to Pioneer directly by each graduate.

The Pioneer Career Passports include the student’s resume, certificate of completion, industry certification documentation and a list of competencies that each student has earned in their career and technical program while at Pioneer. Marco Photo Services provided a complementary senior portrait and an 8×10 print of every Pioneer senior.

During the awards portion of the ceremony the senior portraits will appear so that viewers can see the recipient of the award. Following the ceremony the Senior Moments video will play showing the fun memories students have had throughout their journey at Pioneer. The ceremony can be watched on any smart TV, iPad, computer or cell phone.

Pioneer has been providing quality career-technical education to high school juniors and seniors for over 50 years and has over 1,200 students representing over 35 Career Tech Programs and 14 Home Schools. As Pioneer continues to create new traditions and excite students, it is clear that they will continue to be an asset to the area for the next 50 years.
