MANSFIELD -- Mansfield Board of Education President Renda Cline was surprised with recognition of her service by a statewide association of school boards at Tuesday night's meeting.
Cline received a plaque thanking her for her contributions as a member of the Ohio School Board Association (OSBA) Board of Trustees, the association's governing body.
"I want to sincerely thank her," said OSBA director of board and management service Chery W. Ryan, while handing a plaque to Cline.
Cline also serves on the association's Capital Conference Planning Task Force, Federal Relations Network, Board Member Cabinet and Urban Network. She is also the OPSBA Central Region president-elect and serves as her district's legislative liaison to OSBA.
Cline, who said she didn't know the honor was coming, thanked the district for allowing her to have success.
At the start of the meeting, nine students were recognized for scoring perfectly on the Ohio AIR test, the state test in mathematics.
Those students included: Aryah Beauford, Spanish Immersion, Grade 5 - math; Abraham Evans, Spanish Immersion, Grade 3 - math; Aiden Henry, Spanish Immersion, Grade 4 - math; Cy Henry, Spanish Immersion, Grade 3 -math; Quinn Hodapp, Malabar Intermediate, Grade 5- math; Emma Kine, Spanish Immersion, Grade 6 - math; Anna Slade, Spanish Immersion, Grade 8 - algebra; Aaliya Skowronski, Spanish Immersion, Grade 4- math, David Winans, Malabar Intermediate, Grade 6 - math.
